A therapist’s lens: the Johari Window
The starting point for almost any conversation with a development professional about self-awareness begins with the Johari Window1. This lays out a framework for thinking about yourself. In essence there are things that we know about ourselves which are also known to others such as parents, siblings, friends, work colleagues etc. More importantly there are also things that are unknown to us and to others, which are vital pieces of information.
The framework outlines strategies for understanding yourself better.
