Am I on the succession plan?
Organisations have succession plans so that if key members of staff leave a replacement is already identified and they can easily take over. In practice this means that the company's organisational structure has the names of successors under the present incumbents name.
Many companies operate a ‘succession plan’ as a transparent process which means that you would know if you were on it or not. If you have a less-enlightened employer there is no reason why you should not ask if there is one and if so, are you likely to succeed people in your team.
