Aligning your head hand heart

"But" is a fence over which few leap.

German proverb

When an organisation decides that it needs to embark on a transformation the process of change is often approached from an intellectual stance. Colleagues compare theories, listen to experts, run training courses and devise frameworks through which they believe the change will be achieved. However the process of change needs to be understood and internalised at an emotional level before the change will happen.

“Many of us have created lives that give very little support for experimentation. We believe that answers already exist out there, independent of us. What if we invested more time and attention to our own experimentation? We could focus our efforts on discovering solutions that work uniquely for us.”

Magaret Wheatley

The same is true for an individual searching for a new job or wanting to make a career change. You need to understand the process that you are going through. Most people don’t because the employment market has changed out of all recognition which is why it takes them longer to get a new job. Simply put it is about taking on-board professional advice and a degree of change within you and then sticking with it.
